When the sash windows were replaced & the glass renewed, the staff & parting beads were changed. These had a channel routered into them and a brush pile weatherproof strip was inserted into these channels. These were then also tacked in just to ensure that they remain in place. Across the middle rail of the window a strip was fitted with brush pile weatherproof strip. With the correct thickness of brush pile being fitted when the windows are shut, this ensured a thorough seal. Therefore, excluding draughts, dust and debris.
