Insertion & alignment of Lead Weights
This job was in the London Crouch End N8 area.
The panels were removed from the box to allow access to the lead weights. Sash cords were tied and knotted to the lead weights, wag tails were put in between each set of lead weights. A wag tail is a thin piece of ply that divides the two lead weights, allowing them to smoothly rise and fall without obstructing each other. This is the stage, at which it is determined weather add-on weights need to be attached, or in rare circumstances, the weights may be too heavy, this would also be remedied at this time. Then when these adjustments have been done the sash cords from the weights are threaded through the pulleys, this is achieved by attaching something to the nylon twisted sash cord which is then carefully threaded through.
