DECORATIVE GLASS
Opaque, patterned, stained, sandblasted or etched, advanced high performance. Saint-Gobain Glass - Bio clean self cleaning glass, ideal for hard to reach areas such as roofs.

LOW E GLASS
Low Emissivity Glass – one side of the glass has a special metal coating, technically known as a low emissivity or Low E coating – this is an insulating glass which increases energy efficiency of windows by reducing the transfer of heat or cold through glass. In the winter homes stay warmer and in the summer stay cooler. Hard Coat Low E or Pyrolytic coating, this is applied at a high temperature and sprayed onto the glass surface during the float glass process. Low E Glass is used in double glazed windows so the special reflective coating, which is always placed inside the cavity is protected from any damage. Low E Glass allows clearer view through the glass, traditionally this glass has a yellow tint.

ARGON GAS FILLED UNITS
To improve thermal and sometimes the acoustic properties of the double glazed unit. Standard gas used for thermal insulation, this has heat insulation properties, non toxic, sunlight stable (keeps more heat in during winter & out in summer). Non corrosive, colourless & odourless. Three gas filled options are: Argon – Standard; Krypton – denser than Argon; Xenon – denser than Krypton–more thermal efficiency.

SAINT-GOBAIN GLASS
Bio clean self cleaning glass, ideal for hard to reach areas such as roofs. Neutral self cleaning glass available, no unsightly tint or reflective surface, looks like normal glass. Permanent coating – lasts the lifetime of the window. Environmentally friendly – less frequent use of water & detergents. Available with Solar Control Coating – for cooler interiors, widely available across the UK.

SELF CLEANING GLASS
Durable, coated neutral coloured, self-cleaning glass, scratch resistance. The unique coating destroys organic contaminants on the surface and increases the water sheeting action on the coated surface, this allows dirt to be washed easily from the surface and should reduce the need for manual cleaning. Pilkington and Saint-Gobain Glass are preferred suppliers for self cleaning glass.

THE PILKINGTON ENERGIKARE RANGE
A new energy efficient insulating glass unit, designed to reduce energy loss from homes, save on fuel bills and help the environment. This glass has gained energy saving recommended status as an energy efficient product. This status comes from the new window energy rating scheme that has been introduced by the government. The coding on a scale from A to G, with A being the most energy efficient.

CLASSIC
The original Pilkington energiKare Unit achieves a minimum ‘C’ window energy rating in most framing systems. Pilkington K Glass and Pilkington Optiwhite IGU with Argon gas filled, or warm edge spacer bar – cost effective that meets all current building regulations and expected minimum compliance for 2010. Energy saving recommended sticker from the Energy Saving Trust, twice as energy efficient as pre 2002 double glazing.

PLUS
Upgrade from Pilkington energiKare Classic, achieves a window energy rating of A or B. Exceeds current and future government regulations, optimum thermal insulation, uses Argon gas fill & warm edge spacer bar. Can incorporate new Pilkington K Glass if higher rating is required.

TRIPLE
Best possible window energy rating performance, highest levels of energy efficiency in low/zero carbon new homes. Triple glazed units optimising the balance between A values & G values to maximise energy efficiency. IGU – 2 panes of Pilkington K Glass, 3rd pane – Pilkington Optiwhite, with Argon gas filled glass. Very low values, combined with high solar suitable as well for traditional new build properties. Meeting requirements of the Code for sustainable homes. Exceeds BFRC WER A rating & Passio Haus requirements

LEGACY
Advanced Pilkington Spacia Technology. The world’s first commercially available vacuum glazing. Extremely thin glazing which can fit old style fine frames. Maintains original appearance of older traditional buildings. Thermal performance of conventional double glazing, same thickness as single glass; Improves energy efficiency in historic buildings; 2 times better thermal insulation than single glazing; Lower heating bills; Suitable for replacement for single glazing in old frames; Retains appearance of historic buildings & meet requirements for Conservation areas. Suitable for other applications where use of thinner, low weight glazing is desirable ie. sliding box sashes, secondary glazing or as part of a triple glazed ‘super window’. Good acoustic performance for lower noise.
