This window was from the Georgian period from the late 1700's. The window was overhauled & the sashes were changed whilst keeping the existing boxes. The sashes were constructed using Hardwood.
Panes of glass were changed with Crown glass this was a Bespoke special order. The rest of the panes of glass where delicately removed & carefully set aside, as this was heritage glass. These where then renovated & restored to their former glory. The new glass was hand blown glass that matched the features of the existing renovated & restored glass. As much of the period features underwent restoration as was possible. Hardwood patches were used to overhaul some of the existing joinery.
All existing ironmongery & security locks were matched. All joinery was matched with existing joinery. Some of the lead weights were replaced, the sashes were re-aligned & new sash cords were fitted with the existing pulleys.
The window was painted using a micro-porous paint system.
The Exterior hardwood shutters underwent renovation & restoration. These where from the early Victorian period. The paint was also stripped back & the wood was repaired using a epoxy resin/liquid plastic. The wood was then primed. Dulux Eco Sure a water based micro porous gloss finish was used, this was not a high gloss & all fittings & locks where overhauled.
