These windows were overhauled, renovated and the glass was also changed. To ensure that the Sash Windows were adjusted, they were taken out of the boxes. The sash cords were taken off the windows which were connected to the lead weights. The sash cords were tacked to the inside of the boxes. The windows were gradually planed off millimetres at a time; they were then fitted to check their alignment. Once the windows were correctly aligned they were then re-fitted with the sash cords to the lead weights.
